Education in Singapore

Singapore is fast becoming a top choice for international students, including those from India. Known as the ‘Lion City,’ Singapore offers excellent education and employment outcomes, high student satisfaction, and a safe, vibrant environment. Studying in Singapore could be the perfect choice for your academic journey.

A four-tier education model in Singapore consists of primary schools, secondary schools, the pre-tertiary level at junior colleges of polytechnics, and the university tertiary education. The first six years of education are carried out at the primary level. At the secondary level, the duration of schooling remains four years. If a student has reached the age of 14 and has been unable to clear the former (primary school), they can leave the school and attend a 2-year course, which the Adult Education Board handles. Those who wish to study further in university first have to complete a 2-year additional A-level course in the secondary school, which is considered a part of the integrated program.

Post-study work permit in Singapore

Students cannot stay in Singapore on their Student Pass or Study Visa to search for employment like in other European nations or the USA. This does not necessarily imply that they must return to India after completing their studies. They have an option of staying back for one to three months. When a graduate student’s pass has expired or been canceled, they are granted a short-term visit pass. This permits them to stay in Singapore for 90 days maximum when they can search for different existing job opportunities. However, being on this visa, one cannot take up any employment; one can only find job options.
